If someone else can do something, I can do it also.
That's a principle that my grandfather taught me when I was quite young, and it is one of the most freeing principles to live by. Instead of always asking for help, you learn to figure out how to do things yourself. Instead of forming a mental black box, in your mind, of how something works and just letting others understand it, put your mind to it and figure it out.
I start by watching someone else do something or ask them how, but I never think that I can't do it. I always say to myself, "That person is a human being and so am I, so if they can do it, so can I." Don't fool yourself into believing that you can't do something. If others have done it, you surely can.
I hear people saying, 'I'm not that smart' or 'I don't have the time or money'. Those people are being stupid when they think that. If you really want to do it, then learn enough and make some time and earn some money.
