I did not write many essays to be published, for a while, because I needed to be clear, in my own mind, of my purpose for writing. As follows, are some of my conclusions.
There can be many reasons for writing, and then disseminating that writing, I will not go into any, but those that I have chosen as goals for my own writing endeavors.
My primary reason for creating and disseminating essays, is to help others learn what I have learned. I have had unique experiences in my life, and I may have had insight into issues that may aid in someone else's life.
Helping others to learn, has always been one of my primary goals for essay writing, but I always struggled with what qualified me as a good source for producing that information. I thought, surely others have already learned as I have, and surely there is someone that can say it better than I. This notion held me up for a while, but I believe I have an adequate response.
Every human is different in thought and experience, and no human seems to be able to communicate perfectly correctly to every other human being. It then follows, that some people may be able to learn best from different humans and at different points in their life. Therefore, it is reasonable, that I attempt to teach others based on my unique experiences and thought process. It may be that my experiences closely matches those of another, or that my writings just happen upon that person at the correct time.
A secondary goal, which can be derived in part, from the first, is that I desire to expand my influence and reach to as many humans as can benefit from my services. If my primary goal is to educate people in an effective way, then expanding my reach and influence will also expand my ability to help others learn, and it may expand my ability to serve more people, which is a goal of my existence. Therefore, promoting and writing essays that meet both goals in full, is highly desirable to me.
